At Neely Piano Service we ensure that your piano is not only in tune with itself but is at the appropriate pitch and tuned in a manner appropriate for its age and intended use. Historically, pianos were not tuned in the same way we do today. We are experienced in determining and applying the correct method for your piano—whether modern or historic.
Sticking keys? Key that doesn’t play? Pedal stopped working? Got a note that keeps playing, even when you release the key? These are only some of the things we can address in a service call. With over 30 years experience servicing, rebuilding, and reconditioning pianos, Neely Piano Service is fully equipped to handle many repairs for your piano.
There are over 25 points of adjustment for any key in your piano. When the piano is new, these are all in alignment with factory specifications. Over time, as the piano is played and felts compress, parts will lose this alignment. The goal of regulation is to provide even response throughout the piano from the top to the bottom. At Neely Piano Service, we are experts in bringing your piano back to factory condition and, in some cases, we can even improve upon the original specifications.
Over time, felt in the hammers in your piano will become compressed and will no longer produce the pleasing tone they had when new. Even some new pianos have overly hard hammers, which makes them unpleasant. At Neely Piano Service, we can adjust the tone of your piano, if it is harsh, to make it more mellow or we can restore its power, if it has become weak.
